Human Dignity

Human Dignity

Human Dignity to me is the respect you have for yourself and other people who are people. I worked at two places for my service learning project. I worked at my brother’s keeper. I also tutored dyslexic children. At my brother’s keeper their mission statement is "Motivated by love for God, My Brother's Keeper is dedicated to transforming the Irvington Community and empowering its residents by providing quality social services that give them the tools to build on their own strengths." At my brother’s keeper they accept anyone rich or poor, educated or uneducated no matter who you are they accept you and provide a meal. I also spent afternoons there during the week and saw the social workers assisting families that were in need. My brother’s keeper treats everyone with self respect and prides them in building themselves with good strong qualities.
I also was blessed to have the opportunity to work with dyslexic children. I thought this was fret because I also have dyslexia. I noticed all of the tutors were opening and welcome to work with kids. The kids were allowed to come no matter what the problem was or what they looked like. Everyone was accepting. The children were treated with the utmost respect and they enjoyed learning. I pride myself in showing other people respect while having a chance to respect myself and teach them things I have learned.
